    Druids helping the autobahn
    Druids helping the autobahn
The Telegraph (England), Aug. 10, 2003
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/
    By Michael Leidig in Vienna

Druids have been brought in to reduce the number of accidents on Austria's worst stretches of autobahn.

The Druids have put up huge roadside monoliths to restore the natural flow of "earth energy". After the massive pillars of white quartz were put up beside a notorious stretch of road during a secret two-year trial, the number of fatal accidents fell from an average of six a year to zero.

Gerald Knobloch, who describes himself as an archdruid, used a divining rod to inspect the 300-yard stretch of the A9 in Styria and restore "earth energy lines". "I located dangerous elements that had disrupted the energy flow," he told The Telegraph.

"The worst was a river which human interference had forced to flow against its natural direction. By erecting two stones of quartz each weighing more than a ton at the side of the road the energy lines were restored."

The pillars had a similar function to acupuncture, he said. "Acupuncture needles also restore broken energy lines. What acupuncture does for the body, the stones do for the environment."

Harald Dirnbacher, an engineer from the motorway authority, admitted that they turned to Mr. Knobloch as a last resort. "We had put up signs to reduce speed, renewed the road surface and made bends more secure but we still kept getting accidents," he said. "At that point we couldn't think of anything else to do and decided we might as well try anything.

"I admit when we first looked at it [energy lines] we were doubtful. We didn't want people to know in case they laughed at us, so we kept the trial secret and small-scale. But it was really an amazing turnaround."

Scientists are sceptical of the claims. "Natural sciences need evidence. Whatever can't be measured, does not exist," said Dr Georg Walach, a geophysics professor at Leoben University in southern Austria. "These energy lines and their flow cannot be grasped or measured, and their existence is therefore rejected by scientists."

However, the motorway authorities are extending the Druids' role across the country, paying them about £2,500 for each investigation - a fraction of the cost of resurfacing a road. "Of course, the fall in accidents could be due to something else, as we are continuously repairing the roads," said Mr. Dirnbacher.

I Am A Witch by Sandi Thomas
I Am A Witch by Sandi Thomas
When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a witch.
When I stand up for those I love, they call me a witch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts, or do things my own way, they call me a witch.

Being a witch entails raising my children to be strong people
Who have a solid sense of personal and social responsibility,
Who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in
And, who love and respect themselves for the beautiful beings they are.

Being a witch means that I am free to be the wonderful creature I am,
With all my own intricacies, contradictions, quirks and beauty.
Being a witch means I won't compromise what's in my heart.
It means I live my life MY way. It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak up against it, I am defined as a witch.
The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone else's maid or when I act a little selfish.

I am proud to be a witch! It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I "should" be.

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined.
By Goddess, I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!

So, try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't succeed.

And if that makes me a witch, so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it. I love this, I can call myself a witch now and not feel bad about it!

I was walking home from work tonight, at 12 midnight, and I decided ot go do a ritual outside in the feild behind my house.
Well, I went there, but I didn't do any ritual, I figure a simple one is best for a first :p
so I sat there and watched the moon for a bit, felt the air around me,
then I decided to close my eyes
I am scared of the dark.

I had a hard time at first keeping my eyes closed. I kept hearing things, I wasn't sure if it was all just the insects and animals.
but then I accepted it. I knew something was with me, net neccisarily keeping me safe, but with me. I felt like I was being hugged by something warm. I kept that thought going through my mind.

Then I heard a dog. panting. just lightly, but I could hear him, or her. perhaps a spirit? it was close, but hot seen when I opened my eyes. I wonder if it could be my animal, um, I don't know what they are called, but the thing it, I ain't very apriciative of dogs, but I know some people, things just work out. Like one girl was terrified of spiders, and trancula's turned out to be her protectot.

while I was walking home, I felt rain drops, small, on the back of my neck. so I put out my arms to see if anything was falling, and nothing was, but the drops were still happening.

Tonight was interesting, not as exciting as I thought, wasn't able to meditate, or concentrate, but I figured out some thing

I am to concuor my fear of the dark :p
    and I already started!

ok, so I looked a little on line for some meditaions and they either required audio on the computer, plus silence, (computer's really close to tv where sister is, and also doesn't have audio, it broke, can't find disk to fix.) itgers required ordering or phoning....

So, I found one the other day, printed it, but lost it, if I can find it, I 'll do it that way. If I can't find it, I'll try meditatin on my own. We will see!

tomorrow's the full moon right? so I wanna do a ritual of some kind, a simple one.
I atemped one before, but I didn't even know my directions,(NSEW) but I did it anyways, I forget what if was for, for protection I think... I had candles, and I formed a circle. Very basic, very unorganised.
    gahh

So tomorrow, I wanna do a ritual, for the full moon, actually, I think it's two days away, not tomorrow, will have to wait to see.

Tonight I'm gonna attept to meditate. I'll find something on the next, then post it in here,
    Wish me luck!

I was reading about panthiesm from http://www.pantheism.net/ and it says
"6. We see death as the return to nature of our elements, and the end of our existence as individuals. The forms of "afterlife" available to humans are natural ones, in the natural world. Our actions, our ideas and memories of us live on, according to what we do in our lives. Our genes live on in our families, and our elements are endlessly recycled in nature. "

so I guess that rules out this religion, or theory... I don't think who we are die when we die, even if we can's understand things, we turn out different, Two twins can be born, should be iddentical right? but one cries, and one falls asleep. If our souls wern't individuals, then why do two identical twins, who have had no life differences up to this point react differently?

These definitions were taken from the web site, Coven of the Red Witch

WICCA - A modern Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence for nature. Some major identifying motifs are: reverence for both the God and Goddess; acceptance of reincarnation and magick; ritual observance of astronomical and agricultural phenomena; and the use of magickal circles for ritual purposes.

PAGAN - General term for followers of Wicca and other magickal, shamanistic, and polytheistic Earth-based religions. Also used to refer to pre-Christian religious and Spiritual belief systems.

WITCH - A practioner of folk magick, particularly that kind relating to herbs, stones, colors, wells, rivers, etc. It is used by some Wiccans to describe themselves. This term has nothing to do with Satanism.

I was trying to find out about some religions that might connect to me. finding some that at least tie in with those beliefs that I already have.

found these on this religious tolerance web site

based on just thier death beliefs, I could rule out some or include some religions

    Asatru or Norse Heathenism
beleive that after death people go to one of three places, Vahalla, hifhel, or hel (not like the christian hell, but a place of enternal peace)
    not my belief

    Celtic Druidism
Afterdeath the souls go to the other world, then they live a complete life in the other world, and then they die in the other world, then they come back to this world/reality.
    Interesting theory, quite possible,
    needs more study of

    Goddess Worship
didn't say much about death but that most goddess worshippers were pagans, and most pagans are reincarnation believers....

but interestingly, in the old european goddess worship, they were matrilineal, so instead of us following our fathers names, we would have followed our mothers. Daughters were often named after thier mothers.
Also very in tune with the lunar cycle,
    needs more study of

    Unitarian Universalist
didn't clearly state about thier death belief, but that the followers were from several different beleif systems.

One thing that is kinda cool about this religion is that it's very accepting, that's it's basis, accept all, every race, every sexuality, very very accepting.

This is the religion that showed up when I took an on line quiz that matches your beliefs to some of the main religions of the world. that was here, but be warned, it is a bit long, and does ask for some info, like name and email address. not much.
    also needs more reading

    it's a start right?
    11:43 pm
    The begining
I'm not to spiritually mature yet, still looking at everything, don't know where I fit, still figuring out what I believe. I have only a few stone hard beleives to use in finding a religion that suit's me.

    1. I beleive in never ending reincarnation.
No Heaven, No Hell, no Nervana, that even after you have learned everything, you can not stop reincarnating, so until you figure out how to live forever in a earth bound body, your stuck being reborn, and since I know of no such creature which can live forever,it means never ending reincarnation

    2. I believe in Magic.
The ability of humans to do magic. Mind altering, object moving, telepathy magic, and though I don't know if every human or creature is capable of magic, I know it exist in some people.

these are my main 2 beleifs which will guide me to find more about myself. and about others.
